Helicopter tours in Dubai

A helicopter tour shows you Dubai's coast and skyline from the air in 12 to 30 minutes. Two operators sell shared seats: HeliDubai flies from a helipad in Al Sufouh, opposite Mall of the Emirates, and Falcon Heli Tours flies from Atlantis, The Palm. Longer routes add Dubai Creek and Old Dubai to the coastal landmarks.

What to expect

You arrive at the helipad at least 45 minutes before take-off with your passport or other government photo ID. Staff weigh every passenger and assign seats by weight for balance, so you can ask for a seat but cannot choose one. After a safety briefing, bags, hats and scarves go into lockers, and you walk out to the aircraft. Phones and cameras are allowed, but selfie sticks and long lenses are restricted. The route on the day depends on weather and air traffic control. Falcon Heli Tours notes that its pilots point out landmarks when they can, but the flight is not a fully narrated tour.

How to choose

  • Where you start: HeliDubai's helipad is inside Dubai Police Academy in Al Sufouh, opposite Mall of the Emirates. Falcon Heli Tours takes off from Palm Jumeirah, at Atlantis, The Palm, where there is parking outside the terminal.
  • A short first flight: the 12-minute Iconic tour and the 12-minute Pearl tour cover Burj Al Arab, the coast and Burj Khalifa.
  • More of the Palm: the 17-minute Palm tour circles the crescent and Atlantis.
  • Old Dubai as well: the 22-minute Vision tour reaches Dubai Creek and the wind towers of Bur Dubai, and the 30-minute Grand tour adds Dubai Frame.
  • A full loop from the Palm: the 25-minute City Circuit follows Sheikh Zayed Road to the Creek and comes back past Dubai Marina.
  • Your own helicopter: Falcon sells exclusive flights for up to six or seven people; on the Fun Ride this costs AED 4,041 for six. The operator says a private flight is cheaper than buying every seat.

When checked, HeliDubai was running a 20% promotion that ended on 30 September 2026. The prices on this page are its regular prices. It also adds a surcharge over Christmas and New Year.

Safety and rules

Children under 2 cannot fly; older children need their own seat and must fly with an adult or guardian. HeliDubai's limit is 115 kg per seat, and passengers over 140 kg cannot fly. On Falcon's shared flights the limit is 110 kg, and no flight is possible if you need a seat-belt extender. Falcon lets pregnant passengers fly up to 32 weeks and advises checking with your doctor. It accepts guests with a disability who travel with a companion able to help with boarding. Wear flat, secure shoes.

Practical tips

  • Cancellation rules differ. HeliDubai offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Falcon refunds in full more than 48 hours before, 50% between 24 and 48 hours, and nothing within 24 hours.
  • Both operators reschedule or refund when weather stops a flight, so book early in your trip.
  • Falcon advises booking a few days ahead because its flights are usually full.
