Cookie policy
In short
- Today we use only essential cookies: one for your session, one that remembers your cookie choices and, only if you choose “Keep me signed in”, one that keeps you signed in.
- We use no analytics or advertising cookies. Partner booking widgets, which set their own cookies, load only if you accept functional cookies.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in the cookie settings, as easily as you gave it.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser and that the browser sends back to the website on later visits. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps data on your device, but is not sent to the server automatically.
Under Romanian Law 506/2004 and the EU ePrivacy rules, we may store only strictly necessary cookies without your consent. All other cookies and similar technologies need your prior consent, which you can refuse or withdraw at any time. How we handle any personal data involved is described in our privacy policy.
Cookies we use
This is the complete list of cookies currently set by Dubai Activity itself. Both are strictly necessary, so they do not need consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-da_sid | Dubai Activity (BRANDNEST S.R.L., first party) | Keeps you signed in and carries short one-time messages after you submit a form (for example “Your message has been sent”). It is set only after you sign in or submit a form, and it is protected against access by scripts and sent only over secure connections. | Essential | Session: deleted when you close your browser |
| __Host-da_remember | Dubai Activity (BRANDNEST S.R.L., first party) | Set only if you tick “Keep me signed in” when you sign in: a random code (stored on our side only as a one-way hash) that signs you in again on this device. It changes each time it is used, is deleted when you sign out and cannot be read by scripts. | Essential | 30 days |
| da_consent | Dubai Activity (BRANDNEST S.R.L., first party) | Remembers your cookie choices (which optional categories you accepted or refused, the policy version and a random consent identifier), so we do not ask you on every page. | Essential | 6 months |
Information stored in your browser (local storage)
We use your browser’s local storage for two convenience features. This data stays on your device and is not sent to our server with your requests.
- da_wishlist
- The list of activities and places you saved to your wishlist while not signed in. When you open the wishlist page, your browser asks our server only for the saved listings by their identifiers. Kept until you remove the items or clear your browser data.
- da_currency
- The currency you chose for displaying approximate prices. Kept until you change it or clear your browser data.
Both are needed for features you actively use. You can delete them at any time through your browser’s settings for this site.
Optional categories
Our cookie banner offers three optional categories. None is switched on unless you choose it.
- Functional
- Live content from partners, such as booking and availability widgets, and embedded content like interactive maps from third parties. Until you accept this category, we show a simple preview instead, with a link to check availability on the partner’s website.
- Analytics
- Not used at present. We plan to use self-hosted statistics that do not set cookies. If we ever add an analytics tool that needs consent, it will run only after you accept this category.
- Marketing
- Not used at present. No advertising or retargeting cookies are set on Dubai Activity.
Cookies from partner widgets
Some pages can show live prices and availability through widgets provided by our partners, for example activity booking platforms such as GetYourGuide or Viator, once we join their programmes. These widgets are loaded from the partner’s servers and may set their own cookies, which are controlled by the partner under its own cookie and privacy policies.
Partner widgets load only after you accept functional cookies. Before that, no request is made to the partner and no partner cookie is set. Next to each preview we tell you which partner would set cookies if you load the live version.
No partner widgets are integrated yet. When we add one, we will list here the partner, the cookies it sets, their purpose and duration, and a link to the partner’s cookie policy.
Clicking an ordinary “check availability” link does not set partner cookies on our website. Once you arrive on the partner’s website, its own cookie rules apply there.
Change or withdraw your consent
You can change your choices at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it:
- Open the cookie settings using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page, or the cookie settings button on this page.
- Switch each optional category on or off, or choose “Reject all” or “Accept all”.
- Save your choice. It applies to the pages you open from then on.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. Cookies already set by partners are controlled by those partners; you can delete them through your browser settings.
We ask again when your stored choice expires after 6 months, or earlier if we add new categories or new cookies that need your consent.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also view, block and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, signing in and some form messages will not work. Your browser’s help pages explain how to manage site data.
Changes to this policy
This policy has a version number and an effective date, shown on this page. We update the list above whenever we add, remove or change a cookie, and we ask for your consent again when a change requires it.
