Skydiving in Dubai
You can skydive in Dubai in two ways: a tandem jump from an aircraft, strapped to an instructor, or a session in a vertical wind tunnel that recreates freefall indoors. Skydive Dubai runs tandem jumps over Palm Jumeirah and over the desert, while Inflight Dubai runs the wind tunnel on the Dubai–Al Ain road. Rules on age, weight and health are strict for the real jump and much looser for the tunnel.

What to expect
On a tandem jump you are harnessed to an instructor who controls the parachute and the landing, so you need no experience. At the Palm Dropzone in Dubai Marina you check in, are weighed in your clothes and shoes, get a briefing and then board the aircraft with your instructor. If you pay for video, a separate camera flyer jumps with you, and the files arrive by email within 48 hours. The time on your booking is when you arrive, not when you jump, and wind can put operations on hold, so plan for three to four hours.
Indoor skydiving is a different experience. At Inflight Dubai, fans push air up a tunnel with 20.7 m of flying space, and you float on it with an instructor beside you. You get a flight suit, helmet and goggles and a short training session, and each flight in the starter packages lasts one minute.
How to choose
- You want the view of the Palm: the Palm Dropzone jump costs AED 2,199, or AED 2,749 with video and photos.
- You want the lowest tandem price: the Desert Campus jump costs AED 1,899, but Skydive Dubai listed the campus as temporarily closed on 29 September 2026, so check before you plan around it.
- You are travelling with children, or you do not meet the tandem rules: the wind tunnel takes flyers from age 3 with no upper age limit, up to 125 kg.
- You are nervous of heights: the tunnel gives you the feeling of freefall without an aircraft.
Safety and rules
Tandem jumpers must be 18 to 75, and people aged 70 to 75 need a declaration of fitness stamped by a doctor. Some conditions, such as epilepsy, heart disease or high blood pressure, need a doctor's form, and Skydive Dubai advises against jumping while pregnant. Avoid alcohol and drugs for 24 hours before, and do not scuba dive in the 24 hours before a jump. Inflight Dubai does not let pregnant guests or anyone with a dislocated shoulder fly, and suggests seeing a doctor first if you have neck, back or heart problems.
Practical tips
- Book a tandem jump early in your trip so there is time to rebook if the wind is too strong.
- The Palm Dropzone listed opening hours of 07:00 to 11:00, Thursday to Monday, when checked.
- For a jump, wear laced sports shoes and clothes that cover your thighs; for the tunnel, fitted clothes and sports socks.
- Cancellation terms differ: Skydive Dubai refunds in full if you cancel by email at least 24 hours ahead, while Inflight Dubai lets you reschedule with 24 hours' notice but does not refund.
- Inflight Dubai's opening hours differ between its own site and Skydive Dubai's contact page, so confirm before you drive out.
