Fishing trips in Dubai
Fishing trips in Dubai leave from Dubai Marina and head offshore past JBR and Palm Jumeirah to spots the captain picks on the day. Most trips last four hours, with early-morning and afternoon slots. You can buy a single place on a shared boat, charter a whole boat for your group, or hire a boat and captain by the hour.

What to expect
You board in Dubai Marina and cruise out past JBR, Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah to offshore fishing grounds. The crew sets up the rods and bait, so you do not need experience. Most trips mix trolling, where lines are pulled behind the moving boat for fish such as kingfish, barracuda and queenfish, with bottom fishing over known spots for grouper (hammour) and snapper. On the Absea deep-sea trip, the boat runs 20–30 km offshore and trolls for one to two hours before switching to bottom fishing. No operator can promise a catch; Xclusive Yachts gives 50% off your next trip if you come back empty-handed.
How to choose
- One or two people: the shared trip sells single places at AED 349, with breakfast on the morning trip or lunch in the afternoon.
- A group on a budget: the Toot Fun private boat costs AED 1,199 for up to ten guests, and your catch can be grilled on board.
- A dedicated fishing crew: Absea and Xclusive Yachts both run morning (6–10am) and afternoon (2–6pm) trips with two crew. Absea charges more on Friday and Saturday.
- A full day at sea: the Gold's Yacht charter offers eight hours, which lets you reach further marks and add a BBQ or a swim stop.
- Flexible timing: Nanje Yachts charges by the hour from Dubai Marina Yacht Club, but does not state a minimum hire or a cancellation policy, so confirm both in writing.
Compare what the price covers. Gold's Yacht quotes prices without 5% VAT, while Xclusive includes it. Transfers cost extra where offered: AED 180 return with Absea, AED 300 with Xclusive.
What to bring
Bring your original passport or Emirates ID; Toot Fun Yachts asks for it for every guest. Pack sunscreen, a hat, long sleeves and rubber-soled shoes, plus seasickness tablets if you need them. Early starts and winter mornings at sea can be cool, so a light jacket helps. On the Absea and Xclusive boats you can bring your own food, and Absea asks anglers who want to jig to bring their own jigging rods.
Practical tips
- Cancellation terms are strict at Toot Fun Yachts: deposits are non-refundable, you get 80% back if you cancel more than 72 hours ahead, and nothing for weekend cancellations.
- If the operator cancels because of weather, mechanical problems or coast guard rules, Toot Fun offers another date or a full refund.
- Absea lets you keep your catch but asks you to release fish you will not eat.
