Hatta Kayak rents kayaks, water bikes and small boats on the turquoise reservoir of Hatta Dam, about 90 minutes from Dubai. A single kayak costs AED 60 and a double AED 120 for an unlimited ride, and the base is open daily from 07:00 to 21:00.

Good to know

Single kayaks and water bikes are for ages 16 and over; infants are not allowed on any ride.
Swimming, fishing, bonfires and climbing around the dam are not allowed.
You may not leave the boat during the ride or swap boats with other guests.
Groups of more than 50 people must book ahead.
Some areas are closed after sunset for safety.
The Visit Hatta site (Dubai Holding) says Season 9 opens on 28 September; the kayak base lists daily hours of 07:00 to 21:00.

Do I need to book?

No. The operator says it has more than 100 kayaks and hands them out on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups over 50 people should book.

Can children kayak?

Children aged 2 to 4 can ride in a double kayak with adults. Single kayaks are for 16 and over, and infants are not allowed on any ride.

How do I get to Hatta Dam without a car?

The RTA Hatta Express bus (H02) runs from the Dubai Mall bus station to Hatta in about 90 minutes; from Hatta bus station you continue by local bus or taxi.
